Sculptures
Sculptures by Maria Maneos explore the intersection of memory, systems, and lived experience. Moving between immersive environments and symbolic objects, these works use repetition, structure, and material to examine vulnerability, perception, and the ways we process what we endure.
Together, these works reflect an ongoing interest in structure, accumulation, and the emotional residue carried by objects and environments.
Selected Work
Under the Microscope
An immersive installation constructed from thousands of microscope slides, Under the Microscope invites viewers into a space where observation becomes deeply personal. Text and image fragments form a layered narrative around addiction, mental health, and survival, positioning the viewer as both witness and participant.

5535-2017
A sculptural work centered on accumulation and tension, 5535-2017 reflects on the physical and emotional weight of lived experience. Through repetition and structure, the piece suggests both containment and release, leaving space for interpretation within a restrained visual language.

4642-2016
This work explores the quiet presence of memory through form and material. Minimal yet deliberate, 4642-2016 evokes a sense of stillness and ambiguity, where meaning is not fixed but felt through the viewer’s own associations.
